Today is Valentine's Day here in Brazil, so we celebrated by going out to dinner last night with Franchesco's sister (Francielle) & brother-in-law (Raphael), and 2 other couples. There was a band playing at the restaurant, and I found out that the lead singer will be one of my English students starting this week! I had a really good time, and I'm so glad that Franchesco and I were able to spend at least one Valentine's Day together this year :)
In addition to being "Dia dos Namorados," today was also Franchesco's big jiu-jitsu championship. I have to admit, I don't really enjoy watching...earlier this week he came home from jiu-jitsu class with a bloody lip, and today he has a nasty red/purple mark over his eye. Let's just say I'm glad it's over (along with his mom and his sister!)
I'm still studying Portuguese, in fact I finally finished Level 1 of my Rosetta Stone course. I bought all 3 levels, so I still have 2 more to go! I also will be teaching my first English class (I have 3 students) tomorrow evening from 7-9pm. Wish me luck!
Tonight, Franchesco and I are going to Francielle's house to have dinner and play cards. I volunteered to make dinner for everyone...I'm thinking something typical American or maybe I'll make something Italian. Please leave a comment if you have any good ideas of something I can make for them! I'm also planning to make chocolate chip cookies, which are not common here. I don't think they've ever had homemade chocolate chip cookies before! That's a crime!
Have a great evening everyone! Happy Valentine's Day :)
